Leading halter or tethering halter?
The Flair Leading style Calf Halter is designed for active, hand-held handling, including walking, training, and showing a calf. Its pull-through or slip-ring design provides pressure and release: when the calf resists, the halter gives the handler extra control, and when the calf yields and moves forward, the pressure releases.
For securing a calf to a suitable fixed anchor point, stake, or fence line, choose a tethering halter instead. The Flair Tethering Calf Halter uses a fixed ring under the chin and is designed specifically for tethering rather than leading.
Important safety note
Do not use a leading halter to tether a calf. If a calf pulls back while tethered, the leading halter's loop can tighten. Use the correct halter for the job and follow safe tethering practices when securing stock.
